LEOPARD SAFARI

3 DAY / 2 NIGHT LEOPARD SAFARI FROM THE MOUNTBATTEN LODGE

Day 1.  Arrive at The Mountbatten Lodge, Ranakpur in time for lunch under our 300-year-old Banyan Tree. In the afternoon, take a 4-wheel Jeep to a nearby tribal village for a rare glimpse of rural life. From there, drive to a special vantage point and watch the sun dip below the hills while enjoying Sundowners – an old colonial Indian tradition.   Return to the Lodge in time for dinner.  Night at The Mountbatten Lodge Ranakpur.

Day 2.  Breakfast will be served on the dining terrace and then choose to explore either the local area on foot with one of our staff members, or visit nearby historical sites – Kumbalgarh Fort or Ranakpur Temples.

After lunch, your vehicle will join our convoy of jeeps and trucks as we drive to leopard country, approximately an hour and fifteen minutes from The Mountbatten Lodge. On reaching Jawai, transfer to a jeep and head out with an experienced tracker into the jungle in search for the elusive cat.  Meanwhile, the convoy carries on to set up your luxury private mobile camp in the bush. The tents are beautifully appointed, with campaign furniture reminiscent of safaris of old, and ensuite bathrooms.

At sunset return to the camp in time for dinner under the stars. Night in private mobile tented camp.

Day 3.  Enjoy a leisurely breakfast prior to departing for your next destination.  Before leaving Jawai, you might want to visit the Jawai Dam, one of the biggest artificial lakes in Rajasthan, and home to a variety of migratory birds as well as some of the biggest crocodiles in the country. Time permitting, you also could also visit the dwellings of the local Rabari shepherds.

This Safari includes all meals, safari transportation, one nights accommodation at The Mountbatten Lodge and one night at your private mobile camp.
